They would use this magazine to promote the school to new students and employers, and distributed them during the graduate portfolio show. You take design team the quarter before you graduate and the main project of this class to design this magazine. I was chosen to art direct the group for this project. Each Package contains two discs, an insert which includes the interviews from each episode, and artwork for the interior and exterior packaging. I worked on all of the printed graphics and the DVD menu's. Each package has hand done elements and large photos to use photography from the series. The main page showcases ten different themes with a live feed of related answers to each theme's question. Once you click on a theme you see a graphic with a leader quote related to that theme and a prompt to join the conversation about that theme. I developed the grid system, style guide, and did the graphics for the leader quotes and lettering. The idea was to keep the design clean and fun while maintaining their educational brand. They wanted to engage students in their content and give them tools for exploring different avenues of college readiness. I created the style guides, grid systems, and overall scheme for the site. The RV routes, a biography and a photo of each team are displayed to give you an overview of the cities they visited, their personalities, and look into how they came up with their team name. My favorite parts of this project were the brush work on the photos, the hand-done typography, and the hand drawn speech bubbles.
